Xiaomi released its budget phablet, the Redmi 3, earlier this year with some pretty awesome specifications for the price. It went on to become one of the best-selling smartphone in countries like India and China. Now, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer is prepping the successor to the Redmi 3, and its images have already been leaked.
The Xiaomi Redmi 4, as can be seen in the images, has a design that’s quite similar to the Redmi 3. It features a metal unibody with a fingerprint sensor on its back. It is expected to come with a 5-inch HD IPS LCD display that has a resolution of 1280×720 pixels. It runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow-based MIUI 8, which was unveiled earlier this year.
It is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor with an octa-core 64-bit CPU clocked at 2GHz and Adreno 506 GPU. The variant spotted in the images comes with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. The camera department on the Redmi 4 is handled by a 13-megapixel primary camera and a 5-megapixel secondary camera.
The Xiaomi Redmi 4 will compete with the likes of Lenovo Vibe K5 Note, LeEco Le 1s, ASUS ZenFone 2 Laser, and the ASUS Zenfone Max in the entry-level price bracket. Xiaomi has done very well in the past in the entry-level and mid-range smartphone segment, and it shouldn’t be any different this year.
