Not a surprise but maybe refreshing. Samsung has debuted it’s successor to the Galaxy S today at MWC 2011, the new Galaxy S II . Samsung claims that it is the “the world’s thinnest smartphone†at a mere 8.49mm thick. Whether true or not, it certainly doesn’t have the world’s smallest screen boasting a 4.27″ Super AMOLED Plus touch screen with 480×800 resolution. Also at no surprise it’s running a dual-core processor pumping Android 2.3 Gingerbread at 1Ghz x2, while utilizing a new TouchWiz 4.0 UI. This phone is equipped with 3D hardware capabilities, advanced multitasking, 1080p Full HD video, 2MP front facing camera, 8MP rear facing camera, and finally NFC connectivity allowing mobile payments from your phone.
No information on where this phone is going to end up, but you can expect more news on that and a release sometime in the second quarter of this year.
