New York=Girls Learning Tech Skills

Seems like New York is serious about catching up to Silicon Valley in terms of high tech companies located there and now they are closing the gender gap. In the process leaving many Californians scratching their heads and asking why isn’t this happening here?

“Anything you can do…” isn’t just a song from Annie Oakley anymore (thank you “I now pronounce you Chuck and Larry” for the reference) as female high school student are getting a 12 week mentored course in both Android programming AND high tech entrepreneurship which may help even the playing field in app development at the high school level.

While it may be some time before these ground breaking inclusion classes produce their first smash app, you can be sure that people will be watching these students to see if this will open up the development and the real money in mobile apps.

Best of luck to all the participants and the community is looking forward to your apps!
