Say Hello to the Galaxy R; Tegra 2, SLCD and More

Just when I was finally getting excited for the Galaxy S 2 to finally hit states side, Samsung has to go and announce another device. Sadly this is slated to hit European and Asian markets. It already available in Sweden. Samsung has had a very successful run since the Galaxy S was originally introduced to the world. Now we have a new Galaxy device slated for the world, the Galaxy R. Not all the specs of this new device have been released yet, but enough is available to give you a teaser.

  • Tegra 2 CPU
  • 4.19-inch WVGA Super Clear LCD touchscreen @ 800×480
  • Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) operating system
  • 720p HD video capture and 1080p Full HD playback (Divx, WMV, MP4, H.264 B/P only)
  • Built-in memory of 8GB and support for 32GB Micro SD
  • Size: 125.7 x 66.7 x 9.55 mm
  • Weight: 131 grams
With the support of the Tegra 2 chipset and NVIDIA’s gaming background, this device should easily be a gaming monster. I was a little surprised to see only 8GB internal memory instead of the 16GB we have all become accustomed too. I still think this latest device en-devour will pan out to be another major player in Samsungs line up.
