T-Mobile devices available FREE @RadioShack until Sept 14th @ true retail Stores

Towards the end of July we heard that T-Mobile and Radioshack would no longer be in partnership for phone sales. That kind of surprised me a little bit. Being a former employee of Magenta, I know that I spoke to many sales reps from Radioshack, so I know they activated a good number of devices. According to rueters though, T-Mobile sales were just not making them enough money.  Since the world we live in is solely based around profits (greed, one of the 7 deadly sins) it only makes sense for them to cut their losses and move to someone that can make bank they need.

As sad as it may seem, it still has its benefits. Currently RadioShack is in the process of clearing out their T-Mobile inventory. What does that mean for consumers? That means MEGA sale! The sale of the century, any and all in stock devices will be FREE to new customers and customers available for an upgrade. A two year contract is still required, but this gives you a super great opportunity to snag a new phone for literally nothing.

As far as what RadioShack will be doing going forward, well they have partnered up with Verizon now. I always thought the RadioShack colors went better with big red anyways. Good luck RadioShack, I hope they can help you turn a better profit.

I called my local store and they are out of everything, the rep said they have been shuffling devices around the area to other stores to meet some customer demand. He suggested I call another RadioShack in another town about 15 miles away. So I did. The rep over there confirmed to me the sale is a go, but going really fast.

Something I think that might be causing conflicts are the differences between corporate RadioShacks and individual RadioShack retailers. I used to work for a “RadioShack” but it wasn’t corporate owned. Much like cell carriers have retail partners so does the Shack. So check out the store locator and make sure it is a ‘real’ RadioShack before you take the day off work to grab a phone that might not truly be free.
