Beginning at 8:00 am EDT today, the Motorola Droid RAZR is available for presale order via VZW.com and DroidDOES.com. (I was able to access the presale page a few minutes prior to 8.)
Unfortunately, the presale page includes no provision for discounted pricing that users may be eligible for, such as any remaining New Every Two discounts. I was able to confirm with a rep, at their sales call center, that the discounts ARE valid for the preorder, and that they are able to apply qualified customer discounts via phone sales. He also confirmed that while the order would need to be secured with a debit or credit card, accounts would not be charged until the phone ships. When asked if phone ordering affected the 14 day return/exchange policy, he indicated that the standard policy would apply from the date of receipt, so if you think that demand will be strong enough to outpace supply, this is a good way to be sure you’ll have one on launch day, while you get your hands-on time with the GNex and/or Rezound.
Although leaked MAP guidelines clearly showed today’s presale date as the beginning of the MAP enforcement period for the Droid RAZR, I am thus far unable to find the phone available on a preorder basis on any of the big handset sale sites.
Update: As of 11:50 EDT, the presale page is showing stock status as “temporarily out of stock”. Could they be sold out already?
