“HTC is doing something new and pretty cool in the coming days: we’ll be releasing an “early access preview†of our ICS upgrade for the Sensation and Sensation XE. This will be limited in scope (just a few hundred users and only in Europe) because we’re still scaling up back-end resources for general availability worldwide, and our hope is people will play with it and enjoy getting used to the ICS experience with Sense. We’ll be doing similar previews for other devices in the future, too.â€
They also mention that they fully plan to take this approach for other HTC devices in the future. It will be great to see how these beta builds fair in user hands and how the testing can change things before an actual roll out. What is even more exciting though is the possibilities this leaves for our developers. Once these test updates hit devices they will be able to get to work on something new to work with.
No matter how a person looks at this, at least we know Ice Cream Sandwich is being worked on and nearly ready for testing. Are you guys getting antsy yet?
