Reckless Racing and Xperia Studio take the racing action to a REAL race Track
Reckless Racing 2 is definitely a fun game to sit back and play. Giving you control of various cars over various tracks and even some good old fashioned cop action. You take corners at crazy speeds and slide all over the place. Bringing you some great arcade racing action to the palm of your hand. It is one of my favorite racing games out. Add that game to the Xperia Play, and you now have the fun of racing with a full gaming controller. It makes it a great time for all. What happens when you mix Reckless Racing, an Xperia Play, a few brilliant minds, give them real cars and a dirt track? You get Reckless Racing: For Real.
When you make an extremely popular game, you never imagine that anyone would try to bring it to real life. In a partnership with Sony Ericsson’s Xperia Studio, car hacker James Brighton, did just that. James hacked together 2 full sized cars and made them completely remote controlled from an Xperia Play device. They created a custom interface to give the cars the similar drive-ability of the cars in the game. After all the leg work was done and it was time to put the cars on the track, they brought in pro gamer and tech journalist from Pocket Lint, Hunter Skipworth, in for a little real Reckless Racing action. Check out the video below of how well it all came together.
How awesome is that! I would love to pick up a Play and drive a real car around the track a time or two. The things people can do with Android never ceases to amaze me. Could you imaging having a chance to do that?
