Managing the data on your account can not only be time consuming, but also expensive. With most family’s having 2 or more smartphones on their account can easily double your bill. With manufacturers pumping out more affordable smartphones that carriers require data plans to purchase, many people are feeling the pinch of $15 minimum data features per line. Of course non of that includes picture messaging, text messaging or video messages. Carriers have started to take notice on this strain and have been working on a solution for some time now. The current battle to launch is primarily between
AT&T and
Verizon, while we have heard information on both carriers working towards a family data package and management system, this is the first screen shot I can recall seeing.
This may only offer up a usage scenario calculator, but it still shows us some progress. Offering you a way to gauge your current usage and to see how much data you and your family might need. There still hasn’t been a release date by either carrier or any pricing information on what a family package would cost. Keeping with traditional data though, we imaging the plans to offer a saving of probably $10 over all with another contract signing. That is pure speculation though.
