Samsung Galaxy Beam hits the FCC, sporting AT&T Compatibility
While everyone is sitting on the edge of their seats waiting for the HTC EVO 4G LTE, HTC One series and the Samsung Galaxy S III, we can’t forget that there are other devices out there that are equally as cool. At least in our book. The Samsung Galaxy Beam is not a terribly new device. The first edition has been floating around the wild for a little over a year now. They did however show off a new updated version of the device at MWC in Barcelona. The new Beam has a brighter lumen projector and few other areas of improvement.  The Beam may not be the super high-end power house device that so many of you crave, but the built-in projector adds a whole new level of coolness. Spec wise it has a 1GHz processor, 786MBs of RAM and packing in Gingerbread, Android 2.3. All lighting up on a 4-inch display. Think, Galaxy S with a projector attached. Of course that little addition makes the device a little thicker, but who really cares. As for carrier locations, no one can be certain just yet. However, the Beam did just pass through the FCC sporting the GSM 1900MHz and GSM 850MHz bands. That lines up with a potential launch in the states with AT&T. This is all pure speculation at this point though.
While it might not be the ‘next big thing’ in Android, we feel it is something special and unique. It offers something that no other Android device has on the market. Some might call it a bit more of a novelty device much like the Xperia Play was. That device did pretty well though. If and or when the Beam does hit U.S. soil, is anyone out there comma try to get their grubby little paws on one? If I can find one on Craigslist for a good price I think I might.
