The application is called Scalado Album. It is basically a gallery for viewing all the photos in your device, but offers much more than your standard Android Gallery does. For one, after you load it the first time, it is the fastest gallery application we have used. The app even supports photos of +200 megabytes in size. For those of you that might wonder what kind of image size that would be, well 16420×10964 fits the bill well at 180 megabytes.
The app offers your standard features link instant pan and zoom abilities right along side sharing. Where it stands out a bit more is how you can access and locate the photos you wasn’t to find with out sifting through hundreds of them to do it. When you launch the app initially you are presented with a ‘Album’ layout. You can see all your photos, Nearby, Months, places and folders. Choose what you are after and a sliding animation will take you to those specific photos. This is particularly helpful for time and date stamps and if you attach GPS to your photos for reference.
There is a downside that many are already talking about. There is no options to block certain folders from appearing in your gallery or the ability to select the folders you want included. You Picasa photos aren’t available to be displayed and it seems that some are talking about Google+ photos are an issue too. I personally don’t use Picasa and don’t really care about the folder options myself, but if you have a large collection of icons, movies or TV episodes it could be an issue for you.
