When I converted to Ice Cream Sandwich, Nova Launcher was still in the beta phase and it was all the talk in the “Android ICS world”. Since then, CM9’s Trebuchet and Apex launchers have joined the ICS world and it was getting difficult to choose. Nova is pretty damn good, but I have converted to Apex, and to me, it seems to be just a little bit better. Agree to disagree? I know some of you out there will disagree, but I am sticking with that statement. They are both great launchers I just think Apex is a little smoother.
Well now Apex has updated to version 1.2, and brings in something that made me happy which is using Go Launcher themes. I was in avid Go Launcher Ex user in which I downloaded (as well as paid for) many themes. I am glad Apex is doing what Nova Launcher did, giving us the ability to use those themes. Here is what elese is new to Apex:
- Support for Apex Launcher themes
- Support for selecting icons from LauncherPro and Go Launcher icon packs
- New gestures and Apex actions: toggle dock and recent apps
- Added CM9 settings integration
- Up to 10×10 grid on phones
- Support for ADW, LauncherPro, and GO Launcher themes (pro)
- Unread count notifications for icons in folders (pro)
- Improved desktop gestures
- Fixed a wallpaper position issue
- Fixed a icon scaling bug
- Various bug fixes and improvements
- Updated translations
So head to the Play Store and update the launcher, or give it a try if you have not already.
