Today, NVIDIA released an announcement that their new Icera Modem has been validated for AT&T’s LTE network. The 410 LTE multimode data modem would be able to be paired with future multicore processors and allow AT&T to bring us the bragging rights that so many people want.
“Validation with AT&T is an achievement that paves the way for NVIDIA Icera-powered LTE devices on the AT&T network through this year and next,” said Stan Boland, senior vice president of Mobile Communications at NVIDIA.
This doesn’t mean that HTC will start swapping these out anytime soon for the One series though. It does mean that in the not to distant future us little people in the U.S. should start seeing quad-core devices being created. Personally this is very exciting news. What do you guys think? Are you still stuck on the S4 being a better chip anyways, or are you happy to see more news of future quad-cores in the states?
