LG Details the Optimus 4X HD for Europe

LG has announced where will it start the launch of it newest flagship device, the Optimus 4X HD, stating that Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden, UK, Italy and other major European countries will be the first to receive the device.

The LG Optimus 4X HD is powered by NVidia’s Tegra 3 Quad-core processor, a 4.7” 720p True HD IPS display, a 2150 mAh battery and runs LG Optimus UI 3.0 which is LG’s skin for Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

LG has also noted 2 apps of it’s own called “Quick Notes” and “Media Flex”. The first one allows the user to write notes using their fingers or a capacitive stylus, while the latter allows for real-time multimedia effects on top of a running video.

The press release also talks about a “Time Catch Shot” feature, which apparently takes a screenshot of the device before you take a picture, so you have a picture from an instant before you pressed the shutter. My Korean is non existent so the translation from the original blog post could be wrong, but apparently this is what the feature does which I don’t find very useful. But hey, at least LG is trying new things.

We’ll just have to wait to see how this phone performs for LG, which by now is desperate for a hit since they’ve been doing pretty bad for a long time and their only real hit was the Optimus G2X. They really need to start putting good phones in the hands of people or they will lose the last bits of credibility they still have in the phone market.
