Samsung Finally Has a GPS Fix

GPS issues have been no stranger to the Samsung Galaxy S devices. They have plagued many, and many others have experienced no issues at all. Fortunately, I have been one of the few that never seemed to have an issue. Since the carriers and OEMs seem to always be behind in solving issues with their devices that are currently out in favor of the latest and greatest device, it’s no surprise an effective solution has not yet been made.

Have no fear though, Samsung has known about this issue from day one and has spent a lot of time trying to resolve it for the consumers. After all, GPS is sort of a big selling point for their devices as well as for Android. Hence the release of an application from Samsung. This application is available in the market but currently only supports the AT&T Captivate and the T-Mobile Vibrant.

This application will effectively reset the GPS settings to factory defaults that should have already been saved in your device. Thus restoring your connection and solving any GPS issues you may have  been experiencing. There is no mention of how this may affect any current ROM or other solution you may have already tried. Hopefully the dev’s in our community have solved most if not all of your woes. If you feel so inclined to test out this application you can locate the QR code below.

Let us know how if it worked for you. I am curious to see if solutions can be implemented through applications rather then waiting on carriers to make the updates available.
