Google Releases Android 4.1 Jelly Bean AOSP to the World

We all knew it was coming. Google announced that Jelly Bean would be added to to the AOSP section buy mid July during Google I/O. In our minds we figured around the 15th or so. It look slike Google decided to push it a little earlier as the source for Jelly Bean is now available for download. We are certain that someone from the CyanogenMOD team and AOKP are already in the process f downloading and/or working with it. Shouldn’t be long now before more and more devices start to see some amazing Jelly Bean love on their devices. Here is a little ditty from JBQ.

We’re releasing Android 4.1 in AOSP today.

The name of the tagged release is android-4.1.1_r1.

The name of the development branch is jb-dev.

We recommend that you create new clients, even if you’re working in
the master branch. It’ll make your clients smaller and faster to sync.

Proprietary binaries are available for Nexus 7 and Galaxy Nexus. Nexus
S and Xoom will follow.

JBQ, on behalf of the entire Android team at Google.
