Netflix just pushed out a small, but important update out for the official
Netflix app on Android. Finally you have the option of toggling if the app will run only when Wi-Fi is connected. Doesn’t sound all that important to some of you, I can already tell. In the short of things it isn’t. But for a father with kids who love to watch Netflix on various phones and devices around the house, this is huge. I can even remember a story where a Grandfather let the kids use his tablet, a carrier branded one, and they didn’t turn on the Wi-Fi. Cost the poor guy a grip of money for all that data streaming.
The update also included some playback stability improvements, so there is that too.
The update needs to be handled manually due to the new feature requesting new permissions. Be sure to pop into the Play Store and snag it when you get a chance, or just click/snan the QR code below.
