Anchor, The Social Network For Workplaces, Releases On Android

anchorThere have been plenty of studies that both support and dispel the effect on work productivity that social media has, however the general consensus is that, at the very least, it can’t really do that much harm. Anchor, an app from Tomfoolery Inc, founded by former AOL and Yahoo executives, aims to bridge that disconnect between work and social media by creating a “consumer-grade communication tool built specifically for the workplace”.

Anchor is effectively a space where workers can interact at a social level, but also at the professional level, allowing one-on-one or group chat conversations, connecting with teams and team members, as well as sharing files and documents which is now possible with DropBox and Box integration. Anchor  had previously supported both Web and iOS versions, and this Android version closes the circle that little bit further to include all mobile systems. If you’re interested in checking out Anchor, you can learn more about it at the Anchor website HERE.

The Google Play page for Anchor should be going live today so stay tuned and we’ll let you know when it’s up. What do you think about all this combination of work and social media? Let us know whether you think they’re on to something in the comments.
