AT&T may be getting the Nexus after all…

Don’t worry all of you disgruntled iPhone users…here comes Nexus to the rescue, maybe…

Our friends at Engadget may be on to something…

The photo above shows two very similar but slightly different labels. And when I say slightly different, I mean off by a mere one digit. The label on the right is from a current Nexus One and the one on the left was spotted passing thru the FCC (they always get the good stuff first). The one on the left is for a device with FCC ID NM899110. The current Nexus One has ID NM899100. Upon looking a little further into the RF reports, you can see that the device in the photo from the FCC supports 3G on WCDMA Bands I, II, and V, which are AT&T, Rogers, Bell, Telus and pretty much all of Europe bands. With the two IDs being so similar, we can only assume that the FCC labeled device is most likely a variant of the current Nexus One and soon iPhone users will get a taste of how a real OS should perform. 😉
