Google announces the Nexus Q, available for pre-order Now

We are doing everything we possibly can to listen, follow, take images and dig in, to bring you as much Google I/O information as possible. One item that we caught in the live stream but couldn’t get up during the announcement was the new Nexus Q. Because my typing speed is less than 40wpm, I will probably do some copy paste from around the web. Mostly the Play Store where you can find out more on your own.

My basic understanding of the device from waht I caught and have since read, is it is a cloud type Android PC unit. They are calling it “The worlds first social streaming media player.” From what we have gathered so far, the Q will  allow you to stream your audio and video to your home audio system. But there is so much more to it than that.

Lets explain a small little bit about the device that we have come to understand. Using the Google Music cloud that we are all familiar with, the Q will let all the people at your party that have a connectable device, and Google Music to be the DJ at the party. Putting on songs that they like wirelessly using their device. So, ya.. pretty damn cool. Lets look at the actual specs, yes it is a screen shot of the Play Store specs.

Sounds pretty awesome. Nothing beats checking out a great set of video to really see the device though. Below you will find two videos. One about the device and one about how it works. Check them out.

WOW, just WOW!! On to the more important part. how much will this set you back? The pre-orders for the Nexus Q are currently live in the Play Store under the awesome section of devices. That is where you can snag your Nexus 7 tablet as well. The Nexus Q will set you back a cool $299.99. Ouch. Something a little less expensive would have been amazing, but this little guy does so much and has such great technology involved is well worth the cost.

If you want some more information and even to get your pre-order places now, click the image below to head straight to the Play Store to take a look. Yes, we will have more in depth info later as we get the time to gather it.
