Hey HTC One M8 and M7 Google Play Edition owners, you have an update on the way. HTC VP of Product Management has confirmed, via his Twitter account, that both devices have received approval for Android 5.1 OTA updates and that they have already begun. The update brings along the little goodies that Google previously announced were baked into Android 5.1, like Device Protection, which keeps a device locked even after a master reset.
Approval for both M8 & M7 GPE versions have been granted by Google for 5.1 OS. OTA out shortly!

If you are still sporting, or have access to, the One M8 or One M7 GPE variant of the device, you might want to head into the settings and check for updates. Be sure you have well over 50% battery, a solid Wi-Fi connection and a bit of time to kill for it to download and update.
