Remember yesterday where we showed you a Google Now widget that was put up on the Google Nexus support pages? We all got extremely excited and were hoping it was in the Android 4.2.2 software update somewhere and we could all get it going. More than likely though it was going to be an app update in the Play Store since that is where Google Search is located. Well, guess what? It is there and available to update right now.
Good thing I was checking for updates for a completely different reason. As you can see in the image above, the update brings a bunch of stuff with it for Android 4.1 Jelly Bean sporting devices. Most important is the Google Now widget for home and lockscreens. Along with US College sports, Real Estate listings Movie ratings and Movie passes. The widget comes in as 4×4 widget . Sadly, I am a loser and obviously don’t use search enough for it to offer me any cards on the widget. Still pretty cool though. (
EDIT: I opened up search to see if I even had any cards available, and to make sure things were turned on. I just got a phone exchange and thought I might not have done something in that department. Once I viewed the regular search, the widget populated with a Birthday and the Weather. Might be worth a try if you don’t see anything at first either.)
You guys know what to do. Head to the Play Store and then to My Apps. Snag the update and play about with the new additions and the cool new widget. Thank you Google!
