Well this comes as no surprise. The EVO 4G has been the most highly anticipated phone for the summer of 2010. Sprint has been hurting for good sales and it looks like they just got what they needed.
Although they refrained from letting out any numbers, Sprint reps revealed that EVO’s first day of sales far exceeded the previous record for the “largest quantity of a single phone sold in one day ever for Sprint – the record was previously held by both Samsung Instinct and Palm Pre.”
Also the EVO killed both numbers from the Pre and the Samsung Instinct combined. “The total number of HTC EVO 4G devices sold on launch day was three times the number of Samsung Instinct and Palm Pre devices sold over their first three days on the market combined.”
With this many phones selling, it looks like Sprint had better be expanding their 4g coverage map.
