First off is the new remote control feature. This allows you to control one device running Plex with another device. Might sound a bit redundant, but consider this. You have your phone connected to your TV and are using it to stream a show. Rather then get up off the couch to change shows, you can now change it on your tablet or from your wife’s phone. Whatever the case might be.
Another great new addition that is a bit in the experimental stage is new transcode method called QuicksSilver. This new method is primarily geared towards Kindle Fire users who have attempted to use their Plex server and experienced some less than desirable video quality issues. The setting is not on by default though, you will need to head into Plex settings and enable it.
If you have Plex, be sure to stop by the Play Store and update it today. If you don’t have Plex, scan or click the QR code to go check it out. Be sure to read through the description and learn all that you can before you hit that purchase button. Also be sure to check out our forums on why you want Plex.
