New free-to-play ‘Playmobil Pirates’ game headed to Android Soon

If you have kids in the house, especially younger boys, then you might already have a series of Playmobil’s Pirate toys lying about your house. Not having cable myself, this is the first time I have heard of them, but they are apparently pretty popular. Looking through the toy site, they remind me of Lego pirates. They look pretty cool really. If your kids are sucked into Playmobil Pirate world, then you, and them, will be happy to know there is a free-to-play game headed your way from Gameloft.

 The release will first hit iOS on December 13th, with Android bringing up the rear. As usual. Being a free-to-play title means there will be a certain amount of in app purchasing available. Players will build their own pirate camps, play various mini-games, visit friends online and even trade gifts. Until it does launch, check out the funny trailer for the game. Kind of reminds me of myself, minus the iPad of course.
