Transformer Prime picking up new update, may as well check it Out

It seems to us that Asus is the only company out there that tries their best to keep their devices up to date and working right. Sure, the original Transformer is still waiting on an Ice Cream Sandwich update, but they are making regular announcements about it. If they are holding it back a little longer to make it perfect, well then we can wait. As for the Prime, Asus just dropped an update a little over a week ago to address some user issues and seemed to have worked out pretty well. With ever update though, a new issue always has the potential to present its self.

A new incremental update has just been released for everyone to install. It only moves it from 9.4.2.13 to 9.4.2.14. Nothing major. The only information about this update came from Gary Key, Technical Marketing Manager at Asus. Oddly enough, he posted it up in XDA.

.14 will be released tomorrow (US/TW, WW/DE/Others early next week) ,should solve the power problems that some users experienced after the .13 update.

We aren’t sure how many people were having power issues, but it great to see Asus taking steps to make every user experience consistent. Reports are already coming in that the device is using less power in various power states, 1.4Ghz is back (didn’t know it went missing) and it does break root. If you aren’t scared, then jump into your tablets Settings > About Tablet > System Firmware Update > Check Update. It should be waiting for you to install. To gather more user information, point your browser over to XDA for the discussion about the update.
