Various variants of the HTC One M8 have seen their update to Android 5.0 Lollipop. T-Mobile and Sprint have led the charge here in the states while others, like Rogers and Telus in Cananda have done their due diligence. Stateside that still leaves AT&T and Verizon. AT&T recently pushed an update, but it wasn’t Android 5.0. Sadly HTC missed their 90 day projected window for the update, but they have certainly been pushing hard to get it out there. In a response to a Tweet Mo Versi, VP of Product Management for HTC, let loose an expected approval window for Android 5.0 Lollipop to grace the Verizon variant of the device.
While he couldn’t offer up an exact date, he does state that the update is in the lab and is expected to be approved the first week of March. Approval doesn’t necessarily mean it will start rolling out though. It does mean that it is nearly ready though. Hey, some news about it making progress is better than being left in the dark checking for updates every morning. We will keep our eyes on Verizon’s update PDF’s and the web for launch details as March draws nearer.
I still haven’t heard anything about AT&T though. They better step it up, no one wants to be last to the party.
