Worldwide Android Lollipop rollout announced for Sony Xperia Z3, Z3 Compact and Z3 Tablet

Sony is on a push to update their flagship line across the globe. The company made an announcement this morning that a number of devices worldwide would be seeing Android Lollipop updates today. According to the tweet the Sony Xperia Z3, Xperia Z3 Compact and Xperia Z3 Tablet will be seeing Lollipop updates appearing today and beyond.

While Sony has announced they have it ready, that doesn’t mean every device on the globe will see it right away. Much of the launch timing will still be region and carrier based. I poked around T-Mobile and Verizon just to see if I might be surprised with news, but I don’t see anything on the support pages right now. Sony on the other hand was nice enough to offer up a video of what the update will bring to your Xperia device.

Along with the primary device announcement, Sony also slipped out news that the Xperia Z2 and Z2 Tablet Lollipop updates are on the horizon with a planned rollout next week. The good news doesn’t stop there though as Sony also said that the Xperia T2 ultra and Xperia C3 will be getting Lollipop in the near future as well.
