With the recent filing on the FCC, it appears that the high end Optimus Black is coming to a slew of US carriers. According to the prefix shown on the FCC filing, the device is set to appear on  Sprint, Virgin, Alltel and the already known US Cellular, discovered last month. The guys over at PocketNow found an entry in the Tera-WURFL handset database showing a model number of US855 and it appears to be an Optimus Black variant.
The US855 has now passed through the FCC with the following model numbers:
- LS855 for Sprint.
- AS855 for AllTel
- VM855 for Virgin Mobile
The LG Optimus 2X was known as one of the first handsets to feature a dual-core Nvidia Tegra 2 1GHz processor with the impressive NOVA display technology powered by an eight-core GeForce graphics processing unit.
We all know that the T-Mobile G2x has suffered major issues recently,  causing the device to be removed from stock, but I’m sure by the time this next incarnation hits the streets, all the issues will be resolved.  LG and T-Mobile have already reported that they will be releasing an update to fix most of the software issues.  Most of the hardware issues with the G2x should have been resolved by users swapping bad devices for good ones, we hope!
Is this the device your waiting for or something else you think will be better?
