After Android 4.0 source dropped the first thought on many people’s minds looked toward the CyanogenMOD team for updates. Of course an immediate update wasn’t going to happen, we all knew they would be all over it as soon as their downloads finished. Not that long ago we heard from Steve saying it looked nice on the Galaxy Tab and we all jumped for joy. Now it looks like an alpha build of
CM9 is floating around the developer community for the Nexus S and Samsung Galaxy S. according to
Koushic Dutta’s Google+ post, the Alpha build is performing well as a stable daily driver for the Nexus S. Although Video playback and MMS seem to have an issue.
As for the Galaxy S version is still labeled as a beta. The ROM is being reported to be working but not without issues. One of the biggest issues that users are facing is the SD card being wiped during the install. A rather annoying and sometimes devastating side effect. If you choose to take it for a spin, make a back up to your PC first.
