I hate it when we get some info out and inside the same source and same article is even more info. The previous post about a leaked firmware update for the Note N7000 offered up a little more than just a file. An insider at Samsung that
SamMobile communicates with tossed out a little information. Apparently Samsung is currently testing Android
Jelly Bean 4.1.2 for the Samsung Galaxy S III. Which of course is great news for those of us with an S III. Where the news gets a little better though is their mention of an
Android 4.2 update. According to the insider, Samsung is planning an update for the Galaxy S III and Note II that will move both to Android 4.2 in Q1 of 2013.
Q1 isn’t all that far off. It is also a lot faster than previous update timelines we have seen in the past from Samsung. It is good to hear that they are working quicker to get these things together and made available. This of course doesn’t mean a whole lot for users in the U.S. though. Even after Samsung has a ready to rock update available the carriers have to do their thing to it.
There is even more news in the posting to. The Jelly Bean update for the Samsung Galaxy S II is almost ready as well.
This is all based on info from an insider of source. It does all make sense and seem to fit though.
