OnePlus customer service getting spotty reviews due to poor RMA responses

OnePlus customer serviceOnePlus has had an interesting last few months to say the least. On the one hand, the ‘startup’ Chinese manufacturer surprised the Android community with one of the best value smartphones with flagship specifications that impressed in the OnePlus One. On the other hand, their marketing campaigns have gone through some harsh scrutiny, not without reason, including its attempts to legitimize its horrendous invite system and introducing a pre-order system that is only in effect one day every few weeks. OnePlus customer service is under the microscope this week after its been revealed the company has had less than stellar communication with customers requesting RMA replacements for defective devices.

According to two separate Reddit posts, the authors claim OnePlus has effectively ignored their requests to have their defective devices exchanged for a working unit. In fact, similar stories appear to be on the OnePlus forums with many of them unanswered by OnePlus representatives. That’s not to say that there are plenty of OnePlus Ones out there that are defective – in fact, many people who do have the phone are enjoying it immensely, with good reason. Rather, it’s just a reminder of how young the company is and yet another mark on its spotty resume moving forward.
