Android 4.0 UI demoed for Motorola Devices

If there is anything that we have learned over the few short years in Android it is that there are two sides to users. Those that absolutely love their manufacturer UI’s and those that wish they would scrap it all and burn the code. That statement rings true for TouchWiz, MotoBlur, Xperia and even Sense. All of them offer some sort of twist to a Google’s open source Android platform. It is pretty much the point of having an open platform to work with.

After a few years of adding more and more ‘bling’ to their device UI’s, many manufacturers have finally started to bring them back to a more suitable level. We saw HTC take a step back with Sense 4, which is great, but not what everyone wants. It appear that Motorola is also re-evaluating their approach with their custom UI. With Ice Cream Sandwich out, and Motorola getting ready to start rolling out updates, many have wondered what they might do. It looks like we our first official release look directly from Motorola. Have a look.

It doesn’t look all that bad really. It has a really stock-ish look. Changes to the lockscreen are present, offering up a 4 point unlock instead of the stock 2 point. They have added in the phone and messaging apps to the screen. Other than that, near as I can tell anyways, it is very ICS stock looking. What do you guys think of it?
