Android 4.4.1 Update to Disable a New Feature on the Nexus 10

Nexus-10-android-4-4-1

Android 4.4 was just announced, and we are already talking about Android 4.4.1. Seems there is a little bug in the KitKat update once it was put on last year’s Nexus 10. The transparent status and navigation bars apparently were causing performance issues in the 10-inch tablet.

XDA member JosephRaphael  took a look at the code in Android 4.4.1, and found that there is a option to disable the transparency in both the status and navigation bar. He came up with the conclusion that either the GPU of the Nexus 10 is at fault, or the new system cannot handle the 2560×1600 resolution of the Nexus 10. Another member online chimed in on the problem, stating that it could be the tablet not being able to handle the overlay of one object on another, therefore, that is causing the performance glitch. What ever it may be, glad to see there is a fix for it. Let us know what you think about this.
