When Android Lollipop was released, HTC made its usual promise of delivering a software update within 90 days of it going live. While they used almost every spare day they had getting the KitKat updates out, a new leak of Android 5.0.1 for the HTC One M8 gives us a good idea of where HTC is at with its progress. In a frankly huge number of screenshots, HTC leaker extraordinaire, LlabTooFer has shown what differences the new software has compared to the old, one of which is shown above, where HTC has opted for a more stock Recent Apps arrangement instead of the one it has used for quite some time now.

Android 5.0.1 for the HTC One M8It’s hard to say whether this means the update is coming in the immediate future, but it’s always good to see that things are going on behind the scenes. With HTC Sense staying at 6.0, people may be a bit disappointed there aren’t more changes to features like Blinkfeed, but Android 5.0.1 is sure to bring in a whole number of background features that will improved the overall experience greatly.
