App Review: FolderOrganizer

Application name : FolderOrganizer

So how many apps do you have on your phone? If you have an unmodified G1 then I expect not many, but if however, you have one of these newfangled devices or are running apps2SD then you’ve likely spent a fair bit of time trying to organize your programs. FolderOrganizer is one of several apps that have come along to address this problem.

The idea here is simple: Labels. Labels can be applied to almost anything, applications, contacts, emails, bookmarks or even Android settings. Once labeled they will appear in a folder that can be created on the home screen that is associated to the same label. Multiple labels can be assigned to the same object so they can be found in multiple places.

The interface can be a little tricky at first to understand, but that can be explained in a short YouTube video provided by the developer. Beyond what I’ve already mentioned there’s not much to say about FolderOrganizer, it sets out to solve a simple problem and it does so well and even on a modified ROM I never noticed instability or anything but a speedy response from the interface.

For 0.99 Euros you can remove the ads present in the trial version of FolderOrganizer but how useful an application like this will be to you is entirely dependent on how long you plan to spend setting up labels and just how many apps you already have cluttering up your many home screens. I for one will be keeping this one installed.
