ASUS Transformer Prime delayed thanks to apparent WiFi Issues?

Aw shucks. You weren’t hoping to get your hands on the ASUS Transformer Prime before Christmas, were you? It looks like that’s not going to happen anywhere on the planet. Thanks to a report from MobileSyrup, we’ve got a peek at an email by NCIX, which shows the Prime has been “delayed worldwide and will most likely not be available before Christmas.” Furthermore, this delay is caused by the device’s WiFi functionality not living up to ASUS’ standards.

“Unfortunately, we just received word that the ASUS Transformer Prime has been delayed worldwide and will most likely not be available before Christmas. ASUS feels the WiFi range does not currently meet their standards and has delayed all shipments worldwide. At the moment there is no ETA and no information on available quantities on the first batch.”

While this is unfortunate news, it’s probably for the better. You really wouldn’t want to get a new toy on Christmas day, only to find out it doesn’t work properly, would you?

PS – NCIX is giving out $25 off coupons to those who pre-ordered to select another tablet (if that’s any consolation).
