AT&T teases an unannounced device, most likely the Galaxy S6 Active

The Samsung Galaxy S6 Active is going to be a hard device to argue about. Take the best functions, features and hardware that makes the S6 so great and beef up the battery plus make it IPX68 water and dust resistant and you have something pretty stellar. For those that are out of the loop, the S6 Active is supposed to carry a 3500mAh battery, 900mAh more than the S6. As for the IPX68 rating, that pushes its water submersion to 1.5 meters for 30 minutes. Making it, to the best of my knowledge, the highest IPX rating on any smartphone to date. All of that without adding a Lifeproof case to it. Certainly it will measure in slightly larger to factor in the additional protection as well. While there isn’t a concrete date being openly discussed, a series of leaks and now a tweet from AT&T alludes to the device launching very soon.

The tweet from AT&T keeps things very basic and doesn’t flat-out say it is coming. Instead the headline reads, “Only one thing is missing from your workout. It’s almost time to activate your full power.” The image accompanying the tweet features a woman holding a phone that is missing in action. One could easily put two and two together with ‘activate’ and the workout in session as the Galaxy S6 Active. After all, it would be the perfect workout device since it could take a drop and a few gallons of sweat with ease.

If I had to put a timeline on the devices release I would be willing to venture a bet that it will be out next week. It has hit the wire a few too many times to not be right around the corner. Will the Galaxy S6 Active be the droid you have been really dreaming of? I know I will be taking a look at it when it does go live. It might not be the prettiest of devices, but with summer starting to poke its head out, I know there will be lots of lakes, rivers and sprinklers in my future.
