[Breaking][Updated] Changes to T-Mobile Jump!

T-Mobile Uncarrier phase 4

Breaking:

Starting February 23rd: T-Mobile’s Jump! program for tablets and phones will no longer have a mandatory 6 month waiting period before you can upgrade. Also, there no longer be a limit on how many times you can upgrade in a year. No word yet on whether this will be for only new customers only or not.

Still developing, more will be posted when made available…

Update: Thanks to the collaborative efforts of GadgtSpot, we not only have the details, but the actual email that is circulating to T-Mobile employees that gives the full overview. The short explanation:

  • No more 6 month waiting period to Jump!
  • No limit to the number of times you can upgrade in a year. As long as you have paid off half the cost of the device. (Which at trade in and after your down payment, should almost or already be over half when you are at the store. Unless you got hooked up on a $0 down promo)
  • Jump! whenever you want when you turn in an eligible device.
  • Tablets are now included in the Jump! options.
  • Original Jump! customers stay on the old plan and keep things how they were. New customers to Jump! take the new plan.

The Future of JUMP!TM Launches February 23

“Upgrade when you want, not when you’re told”

This simple phrase strikes fear into the boardrooms of our competitors and relief into the hearts of our customers.  JUMP! is the best way for customers to upgrade handsets – and the future of JUMP! is just around the corner.  Beginning February 23, the evolution of JUMP! continues for new JUMP! customers including:

  • No more 6 month (180 days) waiting period!
  • No limits on how often customers can upgrade!
  • Customers can JUMP! whenever they want – trade in an eligible device and receive full credit for all remaining payments on that device, up to half of the phone’s original cost!
  • Expansion to Tablets!

By now, each of you is an expert in explaining and offering this game-changing upgrade program, but on the morning of February 23, you will need to know what has changed to ensure customers know how to take advantage of these enhancements.

What’s Changing

The previous JUMP! feature (SOC: JUMP/JUMP Bundle) will be grandfathered with the new JUMP! feature (SOC: JUMP2/JUMP! 2 Bundle) launching February 23.  Going forward, all customers adding JUMP! will be enrolled with these enhancements, while current customers, enrolled in JUMP! prior to February 23, will enjoy the program they’ve already come to know and love.  Here is what it looks like:

Table

Tablets Now Eligible for JUMP! & PHP

Prior to this evolution of JUMP!, customers could only add JUMP! or PHP  to their favorite handsets, and not their tablets.  Beginning February 23, customers will be able to add JUMP! or PHP to their new tablets, purchased from T-Mobile, allowing them to take advantage of the best upgrade program in wireless.
