Current methods root the Atrix 2 easily, custom ROMs on the Horizon

We all love to see a new device get launched by a carrier. The Motorola Atrix 2 was recently launched last week and the questions that power users ask right away is; Can it be rooted and how? Even though Motorola is notorious for trying to make the communities life difficult, they haven’t succeeded in the slightest.

The original root method that p3droid put together for the Droid Bionic has been translated to work for the Atrix 2. The translator, Jimmy273 from XDA, takes no credit for the work that has been done, he just simply translated an already great method for another device. Does that make it any less amazing? Not in the slightest. This is what a community is all about. Like my mom always used to tell me, “Sharing is caring.” It is nice to see people not only moving forward on newer devices but also not being leeches and taking credit for work that they didn’t do. Good job Jimmy273.

If you happened to snag yourself an Atrix 2 and are interested in perusing root for your device, head on over to Jimmy273’s XDA thread for instructions and files needed.
