Droid X and Droid 2 Gingerbread Leaks Rooted

Updates are always welcomed, new optimizations, new features, or possibly a completely new Android version. However among the the fans that like complete control over their device the idea of updating might seem a bit less appealing as you tend to lose said control. This was the case for the Gingerbread update that leaked for the Droid X and Droid 2 yesterday courtesy of MyDroidWorld. Although this makes the idea of updating a bit tedious, the same people that uploaded the leak have rooted it.

The new files will give you the Gingerbread loving you desire and are pre-rooted thanks to P3Droid so you don’t have to make any compromises. If you decided to flash the initial update yesterday you’ll have to go back to froyo, root it, and then proceed.  Full instructions and downloads links can be found for the Droid X here and the Droid 2 here.

Victory is sweet eh?

If your device gets bricked, your dog eats it, or it self-destructs, we’re throwing our hands up. Not in celebration of course, however if that last thing happens get it on video. It would make a nice post. Have fun. =)]
