European Samsung Galaxy S II owners getting some ICS love right now, Note’s and Tab’s to follow Soon

Rumors fly around the web like wild fires in the high desert. But guess what, this one isn’t a rumor anymore. Instead it is an actual announcement from Samsung from both their Twitter account and Facebook page. Looks like the original slip up last week stating the 10th was pretty close. Even though Samsung official denounced that date as false.

Just incase there is some sort of mis understanding, lets spell this out a bit more for everyone. The Ice Cream Sandwich update has begun rolling out to the Galaxy S II in Europe. This is for the international Galaxy S II not any variant currently found on U.S. carriers. Nor are all international Galaxy S II’s getting ICS at this point in time. Only those in European countries including Poland, Hungary, Sweden and Korea. However, they do on to mention that the Galaxy Note, Galaxy S II LTE, Galaxy Tab 8.9 and 10.1 ICS update will follow soon. So even more great news for galaxy line owners. We assume those will be landing in the next few weeks, too international owners first and potential any that are non-carrier branded.

This does mean though, that developers will have an official source to work from for our U.S. counter parts. Hopefully their official updates won’t be to far behind the international release. We can only hope. Let us know if you get an OTA for the update. Some may wish to give Kies a try too. Samsung didn’t seem to mention how the update was going to be presented.
