First Ice Cream Sandwich tablet available in the United States for $120

Looking for a way to burn some of that newly acquired Christmas money? You may want to take a look at the first tablet to ship with Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) in the United States. Say hello to the Novo7 Paladin — a 7-inch Android tablet from Ainovo, powered by a single-core 1GHz MIPS-Based XBurst CPU with a Vivante GC860 GPU clocked at 444MHz. With a mere 512MB of on-board RAM and 8GB of internal storage, we aren’t really talking about anything super impressive here, but it does run ICS out of the box — giving the Novo7 the bragging rights of being the first tablet in the States to ship with Android’s latest flavor. We reported on this device a while back, but at that time it was only available in China.

Now, there’s something to keep in mind about the Ainovo Novo7 — there are 3 different models available:

  • Paladin — Ships with Ice Cream Sandwich, but does not have a camera.
  • Basic — 2MP rear-facing and VGA front-facing camera included,  ships with Honeycomb (Android 3.2)
  • Advance — 1.5GHz processor, same camera setup as basic, ships with Gingerbread (Android 2.3)

Obviously, if you decide to pick one of these babies up, make sure to read the small print and get the model that best suits your needs. For more information on how to order, make sure to check out the source link below.
