Froyo Native Tethering Confirmed and Tested Successfully.

The guys over at Android Police just passed this little snippet of information to us that confirms the USB Tether and WiFi Access point/mobile hotspot capabilities, built right into the core of Android 2.2 Froyo are for real and working nicely.

Who really knows if this functionality will be available when you purchase your phone from your local carrier as most of the carriers don’t like the tethering features due bandwidth usage.  Nice to know it’s in the core of future Android and your local neighborhood developer should be rolling these updates in to future releases.

I’m sure we’ll all be learning more of the new features in Froyo next week at Google IO and let’s hope we get some updates for our phones soon after that.

Stay tuned for more info.
