GAME NIGHT: Carmageddon

carmageddon

So who has tried this balls to the wall, full throttle mayhem and destruction of a racing game? Carmageddon has been resurrected from the video game cemetery, and thrown onto our Android devices. I hope you guys took advantage of the free promo they had going when it was first launched into the Play Store.

Now I never played the original game, so I cannot do any kind of comparisons here. With that, I can tell you they did capture the old video game style in this version for Android, when it comes to how the graphics look. Now that is not a bad thing whatsoever, it makes the game feel euphoric.

When first starting Carmageddon, there is not much you will have to do. Hit new game, pick your driver, pick your car, and let the motor carnage begin. There are numerous tracks in this game, and thankfully it does, since the download is a hefty 110mb in size. Once you start the race, the addicting action begins.

Now probably due to the fact that my phone is a year old (15 in digital years) so I had some problems with the controls of the game. The controls are simple, with the gas pedal, hand brake, and reverse on the right side. Left and right controls on the left side of the screen. Strangely, my phone is not touch sensitive enough, so trying to suddenly turn became a challenge. The worse part about the controller debacle, is the fact that my thumb will be firmly on the gas pedal, but the car would slow down. I would have to keep on touching it, which was a nuisance, but I do not blame on the game.

Overall, this is a pretty fun and addicting game. Even at its two dollar price tag, die hard gamers, as well as people who played the old school version, will find this version absolutely pleasing. There is a free version though, so you can always test it out. Check out my small video review below, and let us know how much you like it.
