GAME REVIEW: Rise of the Blobs

rise-of-the-blobs

Who wants to be a marshmallow that tosses big pieces of fruit over a cliff at jello-like blob monsters? I thought you might. That is what you get with Robot Invader‘s Rise of the Blobs, and it is all kinds of addicting fun.

This is one of those simple, yet addicting games. Like I said in the opening paragraph of this post, you play a marshmallow that tosses fruit over a cliff at blob monsters. Sounds simple, right? Well, there is a little more to it than that. First off, you have three different pieces of fruit you will be throwing over the cliff. You got a blueberry, an orange, and a watermelon. As you are on top of this cliff, the blobs (which look like jello cubes) will begin piling up on each other, and to make them explode, you must chuck the piece of fruit over the cliff, and match it with the color of the blob. In a way, it is kind of like Tetris. The more the blobs build up, the harder it gets.

Controls are pretty easy. You swipe to the left or right, to maneuver around the cliff, and you swipe down to make the fruit hit the blobs faster. You do have coconut bombs that can be used when stuff starts to get really crazy. What ever color blob the bomb lands on, all of the same color blobs will explode at once. Be careful though, because you can only use a bomb once. Although one time I was able to use it twice, and I am not sure how that happened. One of those nice little bonuses.

So that is pretty much the gist of the game. Check out my quick video review below to see it in action. it is free in the Play Store, so I would suggest trying it out. It is pretty addicting. Let us know if you guys like it.
