Google Docs, Sheets and Slides all update with real-time spell check and more [APK Downloads]

App update Wednesday is in full swing again after a short hiatus over the holidays and new year. While we saw a few updates here and there over the last few weeks, nothing new and amazing came out. Today we are seeing a number of apps updating across the boards, many with lots of new functionality and features. First up is a simultaneous update launch for all of the Drive apps, Drive, Sheets, Slides and Docs all have something new included.

There are a few little details that are rather important. In documents you now have real-time spell checking to help you catch spelling errors as they happen, hiding rows and columns in spreadsheets and grouping shapes in presentations.

In addition to those bits, TalkBack service is now working to help for the visually impaired, or lazy, individuals out there. The final bit of update news comes not to Android though, but rather iOS. The other guys are getting Touch ID to add another layer of security to accessing files. That is all Google deemed noteworthy in their blog post about the update. I am sure each app has something else tied into it, at least some bug fixes or something, but the Play Store “What’s New” section isn’t telling me anything else as of yet.

All the updates are rolling out right now, but could always take a few hours or a few days before they hit every device. You can check the Play Store for updates or head to the links below to side load the updated APK to your device right now. Either way, happy app update Wednesday.
