Google Letting Glass Explorers Invite a Friend to “Explore” with Them

Well if you didn’t win your invite in the #ifihadglass contest or didn’t get to go to Google I/O last year than boy are you in luck. Some select Glass Explorers have been receiving emails that allow them to invite a friend to join the Glass Explorers. That’s right Google is starting to expand its Glass group allowing for more Glass enthusiasts to join the party.

As you can see there are some pre-requisites that need to be met before a friend is invited (below).

Must be a US resident
Be 18 years or older
And be able to pick up Glass in either Los Angeles, San Francisco, or New York

If the potential Glass explorer qualifies then once the “invite a friend” button is clicked a form comes up. On this form the current explorer is asked for the name and email address of the invitee along with what relationship the current explorer has with the invitee and why they would make a good explorer. (Image below) The new Explorer will also have to pay for their Glass (I assume the full $1,500+tax, so a grand total of $1,635) but no mention of price was shown in the email, but it’s a pretty safe bet.

As you can see Google is further expanding its Glass Explorers program and I for one am happy about it. I have checked that Glass website religiously since the #ifihadglass contest ended hoping to catch a glimmer of a “Get Glass Here” link, but alas nothing has come up. Thankfully Google is giving us a second chance to get our hand on this amazing device. With a rumored launch date of “sometime around 2014” I hope that Google gives us another shot to get in before they officially go on sale.

So, if you got Google Glass what would you do with it? Let us know in the comments below and I wish you all the best of luck on your Glass endeavors.
