Google Nexus 7 getting Android 4.1.2 OTA already, Landscape mode on the home screen Added

We absolutely love how fast Google works on updates and gets them out to users. Just this morning, Android 4.1.2 was pushed to the AOSP for developers and anyone else to tinker around with. Now that very same update is already showing up on the Nexus 7.  The update weighs in at 31.3 MB and sports that snazzy new build number of JZO54K. As usual, not every device is seeing the update at this very moment. It can take a few days for all of you to get your hands on it legitimately from Google. Of course if you are running some custom-built ROM, you probably won’t see it at all and will want to wait for your developer to rebuild it with the new build.

Everyone is eager to find out exactly what the new ‘minor’ updates are that JBQ was talking about in his announcement of it heading to AOSP. One thing that is obvious is landscape mode on the home screen. The rest of the changes are indicating stability and performance improvements. Which sounds about right given the size of the update. If you are still one of those stock lovers out there, be sure to get your Nexus 7 charged up over 50% and check periodically for the update. It is bound to hit your device sooner than later.

Now, when is the Galaxy Nexus getting an update, or will this be a tablet only version? See, still more questions to dig out answers for.
