HP announces new Pro Slate 12, Pro Slate 8 and Pro Slate 10 EE along with Duet Pen

Earlier this morning HP held a webcast announcement for some products that will be joining their portfolio. Among the news a new set of slates will be making an appearance sporting Android 4.4 KitKat, of course. The big dog on the block will be the Pro Slate 12. As the name suggests, it will be rather large sporting a 12.3-inch display placed under the newly created Corning Gorilla Glass 4 glass. This marks the first tablet, that I know of at least, that is using the new glass. The large display packs in the resolution at 1600 x 1200 and is powered by a 2.3GHz Qualcomm 800 processor, 2GB of RAM and 32GB internal storage with an expandable micro SD card slot. You will also find a 8MP camera on the rear and a 2MP camera facing forward. (pictured above)

The Pro Slate 8 is similarly spec’d but is carrying a 7.9-inch screen with a resolution of 2048 x 1536 with a 16GB or 32Gb storage size offering. Both tablets have a similar design and resemble a tablet variation of the HTC One M8, to my eyes at least, with DTS tuned dual front-facing speakers. These two new additions will also come with HP’s new Duet Pen which is a dual-mode type of styles that is also a regular pen and digitalizes your writing from paper to the screen. They will also come with enterprise-grade security.

The HP Pro Slate 10 EE is the final tablet in the mix and is geared more towards schools and such as it is dust and moisture resistant. however, it gets a different set of spec’s and swaps out the Qualcomm 800 for a 1.33 GHz Intel Atom processor, and 1GB of RAM. As the name suggests, it will be a 10.1-inch screen with a resolution of 1280 x 800 and lacks the Duet Pen, from my understanding at least.

Pricing wise you are looking at spending $449 for the HP Pro Slate 8, $569 for the HP Pro Slate 12 and a much lower $279 for the HP Pro Slate 10 EE.
